The X-300 is Avalla's current-generation 10L/day compressor dehumidifier, and it supersedes the older X-125 on the two things that unit was best known for: it is quieter and cheaper to run. Where the X-125 managed 42dB and 0.21kW/h, the X-300 runs at 30dB and 0.16kW/h — roughly 4p an hour.

Room coverage and extraction

A 10L per day extraction rate and 100m³/h airflow give coverage of up to 38m², which suits a large lounge, a through-lounge or a couple of average bedrooms. A built-in humidity sensor holds a set level automatically rather than running flat out, and there are two fan speeds plus a 24-hour timer.

Drainage

The 2L tank is on the small side for a 10L/day unit, so if you are running it hard against serious damp you will be emptying it more than once a day. Continuous drainage is supported, which is the sensible option for a cellar, utility room or anywhere you can route a hose to a drain.

Laundry drying
