The Last Outpost is free to read. We pay for it with affiliate links: when you follow a link from this site to a retailer and buy something, the retailer may pay us a commission. This page explains how that works and how it affects what we write.

Amazon Associates

As an Amazon Associate the site earns from qualifying purchases.

The Last Outpost is a participant in the Amazon EU Associates Programme, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.co.uk.

Most of the product links on this site go to Amazon UK. Amazon pays us a small percentage of what you spend in the visit that follows the click, whether or not you buy the product we linked to.

Other retailers

A few links go to other retailers through affiliate networks. Those are affiliate links too, and they work the same way: the retailer pays us, not you.

It costs you nothing

You pay the same price whether you arrive through our link or go to the retailer directly. The commission comes out of the retailer's margin and is never added to your bill.

How we choose what to list

• We pick the products ourselves. No brand pays to be listed, ranked or reviewed, and we do not accept free products in exchange for coverage.
• The commission does not decide what we recommend. Where a cheaper product does the job, we say so, even when it earns us less.
• We have not used most of the products we list. Our pages are built from the manufacturer's specifications, the retailer's listing and what owners report. Where we have used something ourselves, the page says so.
• Prices and stock change often. We give the price on the date we checked it, and the retailer's page always has the current one.

How to spot an affiliate link

Every green "View Full Details" button on this site, and the product photo on each product page, takes you to the retailer through an affiliate link. So do links in our guides that lead to a retailer. Links between our own pages are not affiliate links.

We follow the Advertising Standards Authority's CAP Code and the Competition and Markets Authority's guidance that advertising must be obvious as advertising, which is why this disclosure is linked from the footer of every page.
