Privacy Policy
Last updated 8 November 2026
This policy explains what The Last Outpost records about visitors, why, how long we keep it and what you can do about it. The short version: you cannot create an account here and we run no analytics or advertising trackers, but we do record a few details when you click through to a retailer.
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Loco Solutions Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 08978534), registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under number ZB237273. Our address is Belmont Suite, Paragon Business Park, Chorley New Road, Lostock, Bolton, BL6 6HG.
What we do not do
- We do not use Google Analytics or any other analytics service.
- We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
- We do not sell or share your data for anyone else's marketing.
When you click through to a retailer
Product buttons and retailer links on this site pass through our own link first, which records the click and then sends you on to the retailer. At that moment we store:
- your IP address;
- your approximate location worked out from the IP address: country, region, town, postcode area, rough coordinates and time zone;
- your browser, device type and operating system, read from your browser's user agent;
- the page on this site you clicked from, and the site that referred you here, if your browser sends it;
- the Google Ads click identifier, if you arrived from one of our adverts;
- the product you clicked and the time.
We use this to see which pages and products are useful, to tell real visitors from automated bots and scrapers, and to check whether our advertising works. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running and improving the site. We do not use it to identify you.
These records are deleted automatically after 90 days.
Who else processes your data
- ip-api.com receives your IP address when you click through, to look up the approximate location described above.
- Sentry receives technical details of any error that occurs while you use the site, so we can fix it. We have configured it not to send personal data such as your IP address by default.
- Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running.
- Amazon and other retailers receive you as a visitor once you follow a link, and from then on their own privacy notices apply, including the cookies they use to credit the sale to us.
Some of these providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States.
Cookies
This site sets only the cookies it needs to work: a session cookie, a security cookie that protects against cross-site request forgery, and a cookie that remembers you have dismissed the cookie notice so it does not keep reappearing. None of them tracks you across other sites, and all are strictly necessary.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it or stop using it. Because we do not know who you are, we can only find click records by IP address, so please include the IP address you used when you contact us.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If what we record changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
