Who it suits
The Apex 3 suits anyone who wants a quiet, comfortable keyboard for gaming and everyday typing without paying mechanical prices. The near-silent keys are a good fit for shared rooms, late-night sessions and open offices, and the wrist rest and media roller are handy extras at this price. It also works well if you already use other SteelSeries gear, as reviewers report the lighting syncing across devices through the software.
Who should skip it
This is a membrane keyboard, not a mechanical one, so you cannot swap switches or keycaps, and the feel will not match a mechanical board. The lighting is zone-based rather than per-key. Some buyers say the status lights are partly hidden behind the keys, and a minority of reviews mention keys failing after a few months. If you want per-key RGB or hot-swappable switches, look at a mechanical model instead.
We have not used this keyboard ourselves. The details above come from the Amazon UK listing and the manufacturer's specifications, and the price and stock shown on Amazon may change.
