Six sealed, disposable moisture absorber bags, each holding 230g of white desiccant granules, with a hook already fitted so they hang straight off a wardrobe rail. Nyxi is a UK small business brand and the bags dispatch from Amazon. At £9.98 for six, that works out at about £1.66 a bag.
How the bags work, and why the water is the point
The granules are a deliquescent salt. Rather than simply holding moisture the way silica gel does, they keep pulling water out of the air until they dissolve into it. The liquid collects in the lower half of the bag, so over a few days you watch the top section shrink and the bottom fill. Nyxi does not name the salt on its listing, but that behaviour, along with the eye irritation warning on the product, is typical of calcium chloride, the chemical used in most bag and tub absorbers.
That visible water is the useful part. It proves the space really was damp, and once the granules have gone the bag is finished. There is no guessing and no indicator beads to read.
How long a bag lasts, honestly
Nyxi quotes up to 60 days "depending on temperature and condition". Treat that as the best case for a fairly dry cupboard. In a cold, closed, built-in wardrobe on an outside wall in winter, a bag can fill in a few weeks, and buyer reviews say exactly that: some get close to two months, others replace them much sooner. A bag that fills fast is not faulty. It is telling you how much moisture was in there.
One long-term buyer notes that the last teaspoon or so of granules in the top section tends not to dissolve and turns yellow. Count a bag as spent once the top is mostly empty, rather than waiting for every last crystal to go.
The listing contradicts itself on capacity
Amazon's spec table gives this item a "capacity" and "tank volume" of 500ml and a floor area of 150 sq ft. Neither describes a 230g hanging bag. 500ml is the size of Nyxi's separate tub product, and a bag has no rated floor area. Plan around what is actually in the box: 230g of granules per bag, six bags. Prices checked on Amazon UK on 14 September 2026, and they move often. The six-pack is the one to try first. Who should buy something else
If water is running down your windows or there is black mould on the walls, bags will not fix it. Safety and handling
The liquid in a full bag is a strong salt solution. It is harmless inside intact packaging, but if a bag splits it can mark wood, spoil leather and corrode metal, and the granules irritate eyes. Hang bags where they cannot swing against clothes or be reached by children or pets, check the seams before hanging, and put a full bag in the bin sealed rather than cutting it open. Nyxi says the current version has a stronger hanger that holds once the bag is full.

Verdict
Buy if you have a musty wardrobe, cupboard or caravan and want a cheap, visible fix that needs no power. 4.6 stars from more than 7,000 ratings, and over a thousand bought a month, says they do what they claim. Skip if the damp is in the room rather than the cupboard, because no number of bags will keep up with that.
